About the position

Responsibilities

  • Answer high volume of calls each day
  • Patient registration for Outpatient Services and Surgery
  • Collect patient demographics over the phone
  • Verify insurance
  • Speak to patients about co-pays and financial responsibility
  • Enter data into EPIC (Registration platform)
  • Receive requests for reservations (patient scheduling) from physicians' offices and make necessary pre-admission arrangements
  • Update patient account information
  • Obtain new medical record numbers for new patients

Requirements

  • 4 years of experience in a healthcare support role
  • Proficient in EHR/Epic systems
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
  • Experience in patient care coordination
  • Familiarity with health insurance policies
  • Strong patient access skills
  • Ability to verify insurance
  • Experience in patient registration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience in appointment scheduling
  • Ability to activate patient files
  • Experience in greeting patients
  • Call center support experience
  • Knowledge of patient financial services
