About the position
Responsibilities
- Answer high volume of calls each day
- Patient registration for Outpatient Services and Surgery
- Collect patient demographics over the phone
- Verify insurance
- Speak to patients about co-pays and financial responsibility
- Enter data into EPIC (Registration platform)
- Receive requests for reservations (patient scheduling) from physicians' offices and make necessary pre-admission arrangements
- Update patient account information
- Obtain new medical record numbers for new patients
Requirements
- 4 years of experience in a healthcare support role
- Proficient in EHR/Epic systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- Experience in patient care coordination
- Familiarity with health insurance policies
- Strong patient access skills
- Ability to verify insurance
- Experience in patient registration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Experience in appointment scheduling
- Ability to activate patient files
- Experience in greeting patients
- Call center support experience
- Knowledge of patient financial services
